We have put together a list of the most commonly asked questions. Please take time to read these before your appointment as it will help save time and provide you with important information before you arrive. If you have a specific question in mind, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.

Can you come to my home or workplace?

To get the most out of your treatment, we ask clients to come to our premises. The experience of being in the relaxing space we have created without the pressures or possible distractions is so much more beneficial and gives the most effective treatment. For this reason, we don’t do home visits.

What are your qualifications?

VTCT Level 3 Complementary Therapy in Swedish Massage, Hot Stone Massage, Aromatherapy and Reflexology
Accredited Pregnancy Massage
Facial Reflexology
Oncology Reflexology and Massage
Aromatherapy products production (bespoke for individual clients)

Sandra Daruwala is a fully qualified therapist and fully insured in all methodologies offered at The Recovery Well.

Are you a member of a professional association?

Sandra Daruwala is registered with the FHT (the Federation of Holistic Therapists) and CtHA (The Professional Association For Complementary, SPA & Sports Therapists). Sandra is listed on the FHT Complementary Healthcare Therapist Register, which has been approved by the Professional Standards Authority, under its Accredited Registers programme.The Professional Standards Authority is an independent body, accountable to Parliament. The Authority was asked by the Government to set up the Accredited Registers programme in 2012, to offer enhanced protection for anyone seeking health and social care services that are not statutorily regulated.

Can you do double bookings for example massage then reflexology?

Yes, in most cases, but this will be discussed on an individual basis.

Can you offer group bookings for bridal groups for example?

What is Reflexology?

What is Swedish massage and how is it different from Thai or sports massage?

Swedish Massage is more soothing and relaxing than Thia or Sports Massage and at the same time therapeutic for sore and stiff muscles, increasing circulation to the skin and underlying tissues and promoting lymph drainage and detoxing.

Can you do deep tissue massage?

We use some techniques acquired through continual development that can be applied as necessary in the massage for more problematic areas.

Do you offer sensual massage?

No. If you are inappropriate, you will be escorted from the building and reported to the police.

Do I have to remove my clothes when having a treatment?

If you’re having a full body massage you will be expected to keep on your underwear but remove your other clothes, unless you feel uncomfortable. You will be covered with a blanket at all times and only the area being worked on will be exposed. If you’re having a back massage you just need to remove your top and loosen your trousers. If you’re having reflexology we just need access to the backs of your ankles and your feet. For aromatherapy massage it will be the same as the other massage types as above.

Can you do Indian Head massage?

We would like to, but as yet have not done an official qualification for this.

Do you do pregnancy massage and are you qualified to do it?

Yes Sandra Daruwala is qualified to Level 3 in Swedish Massage and has passed an accredited course in Pregnancy Massage and is insured for this. Please see our Swedish Massage page for more details.

What are your opening hours?

Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM with last appointment at 5:00 PM*. Saturday and Sunday 9AM to 6:00 PM with last appointment 5:00 PM * (not every weekend, see the online calendar or call us for availability). *(if maximum 1-hour appointment). What public transport is there?

There is the 48A bus which stops right next to Turner Street and is about 10 metres from our door. The route has 26 stops departing from Railway Station, Birchington-On-Sea and ending in Broad Street, Ramsgate. Operates weekdays. There are other Thanet Loop buses that come into Ramsgate Harbour which is a 5-10 minute walk (depending on your speed).

Is there parking?

There are paid parking spaces or a public car park (Staffordshire Street Car Park) near to our premises. Cannon Road Car park (10 minutes walk away) has free parking on Saturdays.

I feel embarrassed about my body how can you reassure me?

Everyone, even people you wouldn’t have considered, have insecurities about their physical appearance. We are professional and concentrate on delivering the best service we can. We are certainly not interested in making any judgements towards others. Hopefully having a treatment will help you overcome your embarrassment and you’ll be so relaxed that you won’t care what you look like! As well as your spirits being uplifted you will benefit from better condition skin, improved skin tone and reduced appearance of cellulite.

Are you DBS/CRB checked?

Yes, Sandra Daruwala is able to work with children and vulnerable people.

Can children come while I'm having my treatment?

No sorry. As there is no childcare provision on-site we cannot have any minors unaccompanied for health and safety reasons.

Can children receive a treatment?

Yes as long as the responsible parent or guardian is willing and able to sit in on the treatment or accompany the child and wait on site.

Do you offer acupuncture?

No, but we will happily give you details of one we can recommend if possible as I will for other therapies that I am not qualified to offer.
